3) The Ugly- (see #2 above). iow- you won't be getting it for Christmas, or New Year's.

If that's true, I hope that M4L 6 will be released soon, so I know what to do for Xmas and NY

Seems about right timeline wise to me. I'm fine with it if it's accurate, just picked up Live 8 Suite off of the For Sale/Wanted here, seems pretty stable to me now so I'm happy.

I don't care about a so called ableton 9.
They got plenty of work with 8 and Lion and whatever.
It seems they got bunches of issues with Max4Live.
Who is talking about 9?
Idiots, fools but not ableton people.
I know Ircam and ableton are working on some interesting devices. this is an old news and nothing concrete till then.
So shut the frag up and help the team to make a brilliant live 8.
They _Maybe_were too much greedy and now they pass their time trying to fix both stability for new macOSX, M4L & gui freezing for lots of users.
Finally I'm glad about my wait of purchasing M4L...
8 is quite stable though, it still remains some weird behaviors sometimes and they got to fix if they want to move on

Thats true! I thought they stopped working on Live 9 because of the bugfixing phase. So it don´t wonder that they need more month than i expected. I think they wanna release a really really stable Version of Live 9 (they must!)

It wouldn't surprise me if OP is accurate.
Ableton very publicly apologised for Live 8 bugs, and said they would stop development until the bugs were ironed out. This is what the majority of folks wanted, and it's what they got.
Traditionally, Ableton bring new, innovative features, more than they address community requests, but I think Live 9 will see both. They've been pushed into a corner about things like recording automation, LFOs, and an overhaul to the browser. I can't imagine they won't address these issues, as it's so long overdue.
I would love to see a free 8.5 update to tie people over, with just a couple of cool things thrown in, maybe some devices ported from M4L, but that's just wishful thinking.
Get busy being patient.
