Once you're a pianist, becoming a synth pro is little effort. Then using good guitar emulations on the keyboard such as Ilya takes the skill to another level

something REALLY cool is made by austrian band Electro Guzzi: Live techno in a classic rockband trio setting. Saw their bassist at berghain last year - he was amazing! check them out:

The trouble with a leslie cabinet is that if you have a real one in the room the rotation and doppler effect/cancellations in the room make it fantastic, but no VST or effect (that I've heard) can create that 3D sound that fits the acoustics of the room which you're listening in. They can get the sound of a mic'ed one pretty good where you lose that effect anyway though, so unless it's a smaller gig with lots of stage spill there's no point in a real one, except for your own playing enjoyment.

Oh yes, Electro Guzzi is impressing indeed. On their concert I closed my eyes and couldn't believe what I heard was actually played by stringed instruments and percussion. They are tight as hell and their sound is really incredible.
