Is there a super fast quick easy way to press a button and have a MIDI clip revert to an empty clip?
The idea here is that I'm populating the clip with drum hits via a Launchpad, eventually it piles up, and I'd like to be able to clear out the clip. Do I just have to use another blank clip?

select all -> delete
You need some midi-to-keystroke converter to do it with one button, though.
There is midistroke by charlie roberts for mac and Bome’s MIDI Translator for pc.

hrm, perhaps a quick command to load a new 2-4 bar empty clip? I'm also only now discovering that record quantize is stuck in the 'edit' menu, wish I could assign something to toggle between 1/16th and 1/8th.
I'm just now starting to attempt creating tracks spontaneously with my liveset, typically I've been porting things over from the studio PC. Recording new stuff and integrating it on-the-fly definitely presents some new fish to fry.

By double clicking on an empty cell on a midi track you get an empty one bar clip.
Or you can just record in the next slot.
