Play notes and record without timing.. i.e play a chord..

Post by Fantismo » Fri Aug 26, 2011 7:53 pm

.... Play notes and record without timing.. i.e play a chord and the midi notes get entered in a clip.. then you play another chord and the notes get entered straight after wards like you do with a sequencer in a pro 1

i dont want to "record" to timing.. i just want to enter the chords and shuffle time timing about later.. does that make sense?

you can do that with the step sequencer mode in Live 8. no need for M4L.
look it up in the manual.

Live 8 has MIDI Step Recording, an often overlooked feature.

- Create a new MIDI Clip
- Record Enable the Track
- Make sure Preview is enabled above the piano roll
- Set the grid to the desired value.
- Play note/chord, press right arrow key...

There are shortcuts and such, so just look them up : )
