Collection of Midi Chords and the Circle of fifths

Something I know a lot of electronic producers do over and over is write out chords for there melody and harmony. I have done it tons of time, and finally took the time to just make a library of midi clips for all the chords in each key. Took me a long time, but now I can just drag and drop the chords.

I have these up for free on my website (just join the newsletter)

I also have a circle of fifths made from the ableton clip colors and some other cool tools to help. Read about the Circle of fifths and the chord library I made.

Thanks ya'll

Thanks man! Yeah I find that when I try and think how to improve my own flow and share that, then I come up with some new ideas that really help speed up my production. This is a cool trick.

Glad you did it man and the time I took to create it is being used to help other peoples music.

Thanks for this. I'm sure it took a lot of time to do.

Where do I put the files from the archive?

Thanks!

I put all the files into the ableton live library under grooves. That is where I keep all my midi patterns, drums, and these chords. When they are in there you can just drag and drop those files in your session.

on windows for me it goes:

E:\Ableton\Live 8.2\Library\Grooves\ and then I put in the folders.

Hope that helps,
Isaac

I sat down for 8 hours and did it all by hand. Colored the clips, then organized... Good thing it was a rainy day.

I am getting ready for a new album and am gearing up by getting a lot of pre studio time in. Like today I am working on collecting and writing out different Eastern and African rhythms. Then with that bank of drum patterns when I sit to create the music I have a lot of already patterns to chose from. Then the creation can flow out faster.
