Why use guitar rig?

Post by the bite » Mon Sep 05, 2011 5:45 pm

Hello,
since i bought komplete i never opened this program.
Can i use this program in a creative way without a guitar?Synth processing?
I'm worried about the quality of the effects...
Thanks!

The benefit of guitar rig, for me anyways, is you get access to the traktor 12 effects.

I know you can make all the effects yourself in ableton anyways, and have more control, but when you just want to try something out quickly, it's a great tool.

Sometimes I run some synth sounds through the cabinets and it's ok. I also use the tape delay plugin on an aux track. I don't like the interface tbh and I really wonder why NI has decided to market those new effects that are nestled inside GR.

I use it on potentially EVERYTHING... and ANYTHING..

try it.. but build racks yourself..
the presets are built with guitars in mind.. but the thing is an fx playground!

Guitar Rig Player has become one of my go to plug ins for a lot of different things. To me it feels a bit like the Reason rack in plug-in form, which is amazing.

Speaking of... My Guitar rig VSTs aren't showing up in ableton (all the other Komplete VSTs do), any ideas?

I like guitar rig looper
In a K induced Haze (the old K kind not the special K kind ), but an Asian spizz can sometimes bring me out! If ya don't get it, ya never will.

Swing like your life depends on it

If you use Guitar Rig 4, download the latest update (which was a couple of days ago if you missed it) and (re)install it. Just make sure you tick the VST/Plug-In box in the installer. Note that it is unticked by default. This will hopefully make the VST (re)appear in Live.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
Tried it but no luck (actually I already had installed all the new updates from NI the other night), re-ran the update VST option was enabled.
Tried it with FreeVST, and <that 50€ DAW> - worked fine in both.

But nevermind, not a big deal ATM, was mostly curious.
