Midi Keyboard With APC40-Style Knobs

Hi all, is there a midi keyboard out there with 8 knobs that work just like the knobs on the APC40?

In other words, is there a keyboard with 8 knobs that are AUTOMATICALLY mapped to the corresponding macros of whichever rack that's selected on Ableton Live?

If so, is the MPK25 one of them?

in response to your inquiry, the akai mpk 25 is not pre-mapped like the apc 40. Akia apc 40 and Novaition Launchpad are the only ABLETON controllers like your asking about that I can think of. oh yea theres an akai apc 20 also I believe. mpk 25 is an awesome product but will not provide the auto-map luxuries of APC 40. Basically from what I can tell, everyone that uses LIVE should own the 40. Not everyone does ofcourse, but its the most convienet right now. Get one!!

Can't you assign any 8 encoders to the blue hand in the configurable user script?
Is that what Destro is aking?

You don't even need to make a user defineable script, all of the Akai MPK's are already supported by Live for that kind of thing. Exact same knobs as the APC too btw.

Tarekith, are you saying that the knobs on the MPK25 are automatically mapped to the corresponding macros that're selected in ableton? But doesn't the MPK25 have 12 knobs? What does the other 4 knobs do?

It's not totally automatic, you need to select it real quick as a control surface in lives preferences, but then it works fine. On the MPK25 the top 4 knobs and the bottom 4 knobs control macros just like the APC, the middle 4 don't do anything by default.

If they work like other control surfaces, they exist to make you MAD at the way Ableton does some things.
