I am weighing ipad against apc, to choose only one of them.

On paper, iPad offers options and apps gallore, but does Touchable or Griid turn out to work well in djing kind of music making? Or more in an "home and office" setting as a tool which simplifies, makes mouse redundant?

Does Touchable prove sufficient for serious djing action, or should it be complemented by some additional midi controller?

Well if you want to dj, the apc40 isn't set up very well for djing anyways. I dj with apc40 just fine (well as others), but that's only cause I don't have another controller that's more suited. I find that in djing it's very important to be able to set up your gain stages and eq's as best as possible and the apc40 just isn't set up in a dj mixer format. If I could trade my apc40 in for an Ipad/touchable there would be no hesitation. Being able to walk around the room to different outboard gear and start recording away from the computer just seems so bad ass to me. You can also make your own setup on the ipad which would give you extended interfaces for different tasks.

Got a question here: I have an iPod with touchable. It is very good, but the problem is that I need wif inetwork to be able to connect. If ever there is no wifi where I go, then I can't use it... is there another way to make the ipod connect directly with the computer?

How about connecting ipad to pc?

Is it possible via USB, when the ios is jailbroken?

I couldn't do it with a macbookpro, 10.6.8 and ipod touch 4

You're not doing it right then . I've used my iPhone with Kapture Pad a few times live with my MBP by creating an ad hoc network.
