I jumped ship to Studio one V2 sorry abelton; (

Well I love live been using it since version 1. Problem is other companys are adding stuff I really need. I use live like a DAW not a looping/session view type thing to be far. But if it matters at all to Abelton I left because Studio one v2 is 64 bit, has a real great comp recording method and it runs the new meladyne ASR tech. How abelton is letting another DAW jump on the ASR tech before them is just insane. I find it hard to believe if abelton is not hip to ADR. It just seems like abelton is sitting on there hands. I hate learning a new DAW and have done this with Ensoniq Paris, cubase, sonar, acid, traction and so on. Live is by far my fav but the company doesn't seem to care about 64bit even? I use massive kontact and omnisphare man I need 64 bit. Any how I'm sick of it and off I go. I'm still wondering what I'll be using live for other then well live ; ) but if abelton would ad 64bit and ARS it would be the best by fare!

Do you think because some devolopers add new tech before others, no one else will?

I don't mind learning a new DAW, and have jumped ship far less than you.

I don't like switching DAW's I resent it and have paid for every upgrad since 1. Waiting for 64bit has grown tiresome. I need 64 because I do orchestral stuff and need the ram for kontact. As for the new ARS tech each company is friggen German Abelton knows that meladyne DNA built in to a DAW using ARS blows every warping pitching bla bla bla out of the water. I feel people get defensive for asking for stuff like 64 bit. I right this so perhaps abelton will see that they are slacking on what I feel is the future. People don't just use live as a di machine looper anymore. Lives simplicity sets the bar for cool features and ease of use.

People have done orchestral work for years without 64 bit, you switch DAWs for features you want, not "need". I do the same, but I don't claim to "hate" switching DAWs because very obviously I don't that much, and if I complained about every last thing I didn't like to do for things I wanted, I would be a whiner. So what is it then? are you a whiner, or did you fib a little about 'hating' switching DAWs with your long list of DAWs you've used listed in the same sentence.

BTW Live for orchestral work? pretty much Live's weak point IMO, but only because there are so many better choices that way. :|

Well, the important thing is, you've found something that does what you want. All is well!!! :D

To the OP, I feel your pain man. I love Live so much too. But my projects lately have been going way too large for a 32 bit DAW to handle. That's why I haven't been using Ableton lately. :( When Studio One Version 2 was released, I tried the demo and I really was in love with it. At first, I was thinking to sell it and buy the money for Studio One. But, I resisted it, coz maybe Ableton will release it sooner than we think and it's more cooler. 64 Bit is all I need for me to keep going with Ableton.

Sometimes it bugs me coz MY BELOVED DAW IS KINDA USELESS FOR THE WAY I WORK NOW. :( So please, Ableton, just release a statement when or something. So that we'll know and we can prepare for it. We're tired of waiting already. Yeah we know you guys are version 8, but you're long overdue for Ableton 9 already. Why don't you just put that "FIX" together with 9.
Equipments: Softwares, hardwares, plastics and metal controllers, computers, headphones, a pair monitor speaker, and electricity to power them up.

totally agree.. live is just a tool.. studio one is just a tool.. one is not necessarily better than the other. they're all good for they're own thing. Is there a reason why you can't use both? Use studio one for the stuff that live lacks and use live for the stuff that studio one lacks? I'm planning to pick up a copy of pro tools (student edition) once I pick up a macbook (priorities). Not because I don't like live but since it does some stuff better than live. I'll always be a live user unless they do something really really stupid..

Ableton seems to have stopped communicating with it's customers/user-base in the engaging way it once did.

yes agree. Happens to most companies when they grow larger simply because their time is taken up with all the extra things big companies through at you when you are running them

I've been trialing Studio One V2 for a few days now, its not a direct replacement for any Live by any means.

theres no tempo/loop detection.
Melodyne is not built in to Studio One, you have to actually own melodyne first.
This leaves no facility for audio pitch editing or Flexi-Audio (Warp in Live).

However, i really like how the Mixer organises multi audio outs of Instruments (Omnisphere, Maschine etc...)
The Performance indicator opens in to detail, informing you where your Cpu is Going (% for each track)
Has bounce to new track.
The bundled Effects and Instruments Sound Fantastic.

Now if you mention Logic 9.........
Get rid of its awful track routing (Try side chaining something for example, its enough to make you feel clinically depressed)
sort that out for the new version id say that is a direct replacement

Since when has Ableton ever been 'engaging' with its communication. Maybe you have been getting different emails than I have.
