I understand that I can nudge the tempo up, but then it drops right back down. I'd like to nudge the tempo from e.g. 75bpm to 77bpm and LEAVE IT at 77bpm, not have it fall back to 75bpm. I don't want to tempo tap while playing because when you tempo tap while playing it gets whacked immediately and obviously until it settles down at the newly tapped tempo. I really just want to modify the tempo gently up or down and leave it there.
Any suggestions? Many thanks!!

Can I nudge the tempo "permanently" not temporarily?

I believe that if, while holding the nudge button down, you hit the tap tempo button then release nudge it should lock your tempo.

Thanks much - that works!!
I use Ableton w/launchpad and loops that ARE the tempo, so this enables me to make subtle changes.
Much appreciated!!
