2.)Firewire 400
3.)Inexpensive, preferably about $300

thanks for the input, I'm trying to get on something this winter.

Anything else you guys recommend? I'm looking for a couple options.

what do y'all think about the Focusrite Sapphire 14? its about 200 bucks, firewire, and small. Does anyone know if you can separate cue outs?

I think you’re just looking for an audio interface that separates the headphone signal from the main. I read DJ interface and think you’re looking for a interface that is also a controller.

Why does it have to be firewire? That’s limiting your options. Is there a real reason or is it a “I heard they’re better” situation?

+ 1 on the Echo Audiofire. The are tiny, and mine has been great.

If u have lots of extra $$ there is the duet2 from apogee too.

This might look like a winner, the AudioFire 2. it is mad small, bus powered (awesome) and inexpensive. looks great, i'm just looking for something inexpensive and durable so I can start djing my tracks around Richmond.

Does anyone use a case, like a laptop gig case? I'm considering getting something from Gator...my only worry is heat, I have a macbook pro they like to run hot.
