Re: BEST midi drum prog for ableton?
just wanted to throw Groove Agent3 into the ring. its not the best, but not the worst.
most of the samples in Groove Agent are really cheesy. but, if your looking for a drum module with a wide range of unique styles(to output to MIDI) it's got that. the humanise knob gives the drums an interesting "sloppy" playing character, sounds best when used in moderation.
haven't had any crashes with the VST, have had crashes with the AU version though..
the samples the module uses are okay for rough ideas, scratch/demos. but you're gonna wanna output the MIDI to Ableton. the MIDI data it outputs can look really strange sometimes(GA uses somes kind of proprietary system internally?), you may have to edit some of the MIDI notes. once you get all the MIDI in a track, toss on a Drum Rack with Samplers and start using your own samples.
great plugin, you just press buttons and it works.
