I have been thinking that it would be good to have a library of clips with ready made automation shapes.

This is in the absence of LFO functionality in envelope editing

Does something like that perchance already exist? has some industrious soul created it? Or do I need to make mine from scratch?

I've quite often thought that it would be nice to have like a drop down, or right click menue of the most common shapes when drawing in automation.

I don't know how useful prepared general clips would be though.

-How would you define the default range and timing
-How do you define which parameter gets affected?

Well you can copy and paste envelopes.
The active envelope would be the one affected.

And it should be possible to cmd-a select the whole envelope and increase/decrease amplitudes
Timing is more difficult - when you cut and paste the envelope it copies the original timing range

Studio One determines the timing of the envelopes by the "Snap to Grid" settings. The range is more or less determined by dragging. It is still crude "IMO" but it has its purposes.
