help/ recording from hardware sequencers in sync

im trying to record from a korg em1 sequencer into live. my sequencer can pretty much play the whole song i want but lacks the remixing power of live. i try to record sections of my song in a logical order so as to keep track of them, then place them in live to arrange the way i really want it to sound, but i havnt made it past a couple of samples without the tempo getting completly thrown off. any tips
