I love the way the framerate of the film can't keep up with the speed he drums at. Musically I didn't really enjoy it... Too fiddly and 'rock guitar solo', thats just me. Total virtuoso... Amazing.

whats the hype all about?
if he's chopped up bits from the original song into loops(1/2/4/8 bars) and one-shots that are in time then no matter what pads he hits, as long as it's in time, it's going to sound decent.
He's not playing live drums! he's triggering loops with drums already playing in them.

he's got pretty fast fingers but theres not much skill here.
especially when you compare to the likes of Jeremy Ellis.
If Mr Ellis was to play stuff like this then one of his hands would be banging the beat out LIVE on one MPC and the other hand battering out the basslines and all other sounds.

23kon knows the deal. basically the guy is a hand drummer. probably congas. chop it up in the mpc rock it out. besides fast hands where is the skill? now imagine this guy doing the same thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbyIv9n_-d0

I enjoy most tappity tappity finger drumming, and I enjoyed this guy 'cos it's some fun stuff. I also like the video of him hanging out with Busta Rhymes.

BTW: If you are trying to win at music appreciation by bringing bigger guns then you are doing it wrong. Badly wrong. Music is not a game that can be won.
If you like to rate musicians against other musicians then your punishment is to read the comments on Buddy Rich YouTube videos. You'll soon see what I mean. There is no "win" available if Buddy Rich gets called a lamer.
