i wanted to add Predatom but thanks for pointing me to there is an"updated" version: Ohmicide. (i've checked their site years ago:) i"ll try it -must be killer stuff (based upon predatohm)

PSP Vintage Warmer in parallel... different sort of dirt to the other suggestions though (good at enhancing dirt already there in drums)

what I would give to be able to use Scream as a VST....
Sausage Fattener is quite nice as well.
This is one area where Logic is great....Bitcrush, Overdrive (awesome), Tape Delay (set no delay and open the extended parameters...tweak the "drive" setting), Compressor "FET Live" patch (open extended parameters and mix for parallel compression) are all great options for warm distortion. I haven't found any of Live's options quite as usable.
