This sounds so good that I'm glad I sold my Moog AND my Macbeth M3X.

demoed it and it sounds alright (not very impressive or anything, though), but it doesn't add anything to my sound arsenal that I don't already have...
So I guess it's just not for me.

How can you even say something like that? What gear do you own? You know this is modelled after hans zimmers FAVOURITE (out of 9) model D's right? And it absolutely sounds like it.

Come on, It is just another softsynth. Maybe to some it sounds very good, but I don't need another softsynth that models other synths... I already have sample libraries.

I'm not the type of guy who will fiddle with knobs for hours to get a very specific sound, I just want a certain sound to fit my songs and then I move on... Maybe that's why it doesn't impress me. I've heard the type of sounds before (obviously, because they are modeled after famous synths).

Definitely if you're they type of person who uses presets and doesn't modify them much then Diva isn't for you. For me when I hear a group and can tell that the producer uses presets over tweaking them heavily or making your own sounds it takes something away from the experience. In my opinion part of the creative process of electronic music is the what people do with the actual sound coming out, because besides that synthesizers are in some ways glorified organs compared to pianos and guitars in terms of the complexity you can play them with.

I think it sounds amazing, I'm just not really that excited by subtractive synthesis lately. If I was looking for a top notch retro synth, this would be my first choice though.

The demo sounds great as long as that intermittent hiss/crackle noise isn't there, but it's so annoyingly regular, I had to trash it. Bad demo. Put me off anyway.

If the demo was as good as the real thing, why would anyone buy it?

Adding noise/silence to output is one of the most common demo nuisances.
What kind of demo would you like to have so that the demo would be good to you, but still would make you buy the real thing?

Aalto managed to do the intermittent noise thing really well. It happened once a minute or so, and the sound was a pleasant stereo noise wash that faded in and out. Very unobtrusive, and didn't make you think your sound card was farting up. I bought it after 2 months of getting to know it properly and not being able to save.

Me too! I think it sets a new bar in sound quality when it comes to soft synths. I'm not adding it to the stable right now because it's not what I need. But I hope it inspires all the soft synth developers to kick it up a notch.

Now if he had figured out a way to make that uhbik-x or a drum synth then maybe I could get a bit more excited.

It was not me who complained about the demo.
I can't remember if there was any noise in the demo LAST YEAR, but there is now.

Just change the date of your computer to 2011.
