Definitely quantum science, I'm sure it won't be long until "The Force" becomes widespread accepted scientific fact.

Ever come across a book called "E.T. 101, The cosmic instruction manual for planetary evolution"

it's a fun one.

I have not. I got my fill of that stuff awhile ago, and it was more therapeutic than anything; I don't think I fully believed a lot of the stuff I read but a lot of it did a good job of resonating with how I felt about things. This is specifically stuff put out by a few authors of Bear & Co publishing. No different than people trying to find answers in the bible, really, except I moved on.

Dust under the bridge!

They must have been cursed tiny junk.
Either that or they were fucking an elephant, eating the children and making the woman cook and clean for them. Good god, the horror!

A guy I work with made this web site. http://www.bohdon.com/flash/ixg/
Basically over time it will create every conceivable image possible. You can adjust the resolution etc.
The problem is obviously computing power and time.
If quantum computing comes further along maybe something like this would make more since.
However if you think about it it gets crazy.
For example it will produce 100's of billions of pictures of nothing really,
but it will also create a picture of you with brothers and sister that you dont even have,
not to mention one of Jesus going down on the Devil.

the possibilities are endless.

dammit mang! after like 10 minutes it's only at 4 giant blinking pixels. this portrait of my family that never was is going to take decades!

quantum science is even weirder than religion
no it's not. it's science the difference between science and religion is that religion accepts "this happened because i said so" as a valid argument whereas science wants to disprove everything, including it's own theories for the ultimate search of "truth". science might be a belief-system, sure, but at the least science relies on evidence rather than some random bunch of people claiming hearsay as fact, especially hearsay written down during the course of 2000 years by several people all with their own intepretation and opinions.

yeah ...
because sir Isaac Newton wasn't religious at all...
some very religious people are responsible for a lot of what you call science today
(which is supposedly in contrast with religion)

I mean no disrespect but I think your view is rather shallow..
a little black vs. white... no shades at all..
kindof like the flow-chart you posted..

what I mean (imo) :
science is simply learning about this world..
it's a natural occurance.. for some of us humans
and for most parts..doesn't contradict religion..
unless specifically trying to disprove parts of it..
the Christian church though is known for killing scientists..
and burning their studies in the good ol' days..
but that I think was more of a political thing..
the abuse and preservation of the power of the church
they killed a whole bunch of folks back then..

is it a requirement to be an Atheist in order to be a Scientist..?
no..
a Scientist is allowed to believe in god..
but if he attempts to "prove" god.. he needs it to comply with scientific methods obviously..
and on the other hand.. a preacher is allowed to doubt..
and a preacher can have real life troubles and temptations...just as any other man..

science (as is religion) also subject to the human-condition ...and it's abuse..(industry funded research anyone?)
at certain times was used to justify mass killings...and horrible acts..
is used for good as much as bad (nuclear energy vs. nuclear weapons)
religion... the same...

ancient texts.. are not to be read as modern texts..
and they are NOT scientific documents..
more like philosophies..ways of life..
if anything.. science continues to study these texts...
and trying to prove/disprove them..
these texts hold messages and truths from our forefathers...
which probably had most of the same basic questions we have...
and turns out some of these people were really smart dudes..
the scientific METHODS and PHILOSOPHY used today were only emerging I think in the 17th century !!!!...
a product of decades...

Science...
might help us get a perspective and understanding of this universe..
it's in our (human) nature to think... and investigate..
I don't even know if we're scratching the surface yet..

religion...
is a belief system or life system... it gives you set rules to live your life by..
some of them counter logic..(purely by faith)
people chopping a piece of their sons' penis is one example... and people choosing not to eat pork...
religion will not help you understand how to boil an egg in 0.4556 of a minute
but it might help you in your day to day life in other ways...
faith/belief ..
is usually in the parts that you don't "know"..
and can't "prove"...
because if you KNOW something.. for a fact..
then you don't need to believe in it anymore...
in contrast..
if you choose to believe in something.. then FOR YOU there might be no need to try and prove it..
(but others will probably want to prove/disprove it for you...)

so essentially.. in my mind..
there is absolutely no science vs. religion battle
there are old texts and new texts..
and for the parts unkonwn you can CHOOSE what you want to believe ..or choose not to believe at all..
or choose to withhold judgement for the time..

I don't get is people disrespecting the belief/mind of the other..
like any one person is holding the absolute truth in his hands..
that's arrogance.. one of the worst parts of the human condition
one that most religions teach to try and conquer... but actually most followers (and around 60% of people in general) don't practice it themselves..
people are people.. fanatics are everywhere... in all sectors...
in the end..education towards Love and acceptance is the key...

I personally think religion is good as long as it doesn't directly contradicts with science - and argue it's view is THE view.

But maybe one day science will explain why the human has such a need for religion ^___^

Love is a cemical reaction in the brain. :P

/just taking the piss for funs sake!

However, I do belive that science is always changing and discovering new and underlying evidence that continue to change and evolve our collective awareness. And I think most scientists would agree on that.

To me there are an endless amount of mindblowing magic in earths nature, and the universe. So much so that I rather think its the heavily religious that are the cynics. Take some mushrooms and go into beautifull nature. You can speak to god* right there, its all arround you. No need to pray and make sacrifice to some never seen, mumbo jumbo super hero.

*If you belive god is the term of the sum of how all life and energy is connected.
