I wonder if it will get as good as having a legit converter to transfer *.a?? files to bitwig files, like clip info (warp markers) and racks.

I doubt that. Live + M4L will probably integrate even more in the future. It will take few versions for just about anyone to catch up with them. But those screenshots sure make it look like Bitwigs are headed in the right direction.

Interesting.
Better be good if they wanna beat live.

I see not many programmers on the bitwig site so i think they must be working aloooot extra hours.

May DAW,s or software are lookalikes so no problems with lawsuits.

Live 9 also better be good to beat the bitwigs.
The competition has started;)

I am always interested in trying something new...but at this time I don't need a new DAW to learn. Took me long enough to get my current hardware to play appropriately with live to my liking as is. If they want to make a REAL impact and leach off some live userbase...they they will price their cost to under what ableton would charge for an upgrade to live 9. Otherwise they will have a much slower build in users...especially if live9 has similar features and user requests.

Will gladly look forward to the competition. It can only drive prices down and make things easier on everyone. Also wouldn't mind playing around in a modular environment. Honestly shocked this isn't more common...especially since most of our VSTs float modularly and hide the main GUI when open.

I think they should start off cheap like Reaper, just to reel people in. I don't think there'd be much to learn if you already know Live. The tricky part is the amount of stuff Live users have with devices like Sampler and Operator, which means they'll have to build their equivalent versions and as mentioned earlier, be able to import/convert Live stuff:p
-----------------------------------

I don't remember seeing anything for macro knobs; and what about instant mapping? I wonder how they're going to tackle that...

Finally COMPETITION!!!!

Now we will see 2 things of users feedback, some users will say that Live is poor and BitWig is the "future"...

But, IMHO many users of Live will realize that Live have a thousands of critics just because it is the only and the most used in the market in it´s area..

Prepare to see many crash reports and people saying on bitwig forums "I can do XXX in Live so easy and here I cannot, SHIT BITWIG!!!"

One more thing, one code to 3 platforms, windows, linux and osx, they have for sure an "virtual machine" behind the code, and this generally turns into latency and performance problems, let´s see...

BTW, I´ll LOVE BETA TEST this thing!!!

I hope it emulates Live’s SHIT summing engine in both performance and the ability to be virtually undetectable by accepted scientific comparisons.
