BCR2000 jittery knobs.

Post by rhedcerulean » Mon Jan 16, 2012 3:59 am

Any body have a solution to jittery knobs? I've got a few knobs on the top row that are jumpy and jittery. I figgure theyre either broken or there is dust in there. Any idea why theyre not responding properly?

In other words, I should buy another controller because you finally figured out how to do html image inserts. No one is laughing out loud.

I've found that when I do BCR assignments they can sometimes be jumpy or go inactive.

I re-assign the controls giving them nice long slow full motion twists. that fixes it. over the years I've attributed it to giving too quick of an encoder twiddle when doing an assignment.

Thank you. Im not having problems with the assigned knobs tho. Just the top knobs, which are auto mapped to racks and FX.

You have given me an idea about how to test whether its a hardware problem or software communication problem.

My top row BCR knobs don't work when I twist 'em quickly. They're all like that, although strangely, they used to work. Gave up trying to figure out what the problem was, so just avoid using them now...

Damb thing is put together pretty well. I removed all of the screws and still couldn't get a single piece off with out forcing it. I may give it another shot.

I'd absolutely try to get it replaced, even if it's out of warranty. those boxes are great because they're cheap. why would a pro use plastic on tour? they can afford extras and they're easy to find. to me this might create a culture at Behringer around them of the BCR being a common thing for them to replace.

worth a shot, the top row of encoders are literally half the functionality of the thing.

dumb question, is it ALL presets that do this?

Yeah. Not presets, any time I use that knob.

Presets are for wimps. :P
