Need a (very) warm analog synth!

Post by PLfan » Tue Jan 31, 2012 7:22 pm

Hey guys!

I am doin this project now and am nearly done, I only need this really warm analog synth sound. I don´t know exactly how to explain it, but a good example is this:

Bag Raiders - Way back home

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSgcOuh9j7Y

Listen to the warm analog like synth the first 30 secs? Im probably askin pretty basic now, but how do u make something like that, and especially how do u do it using the analog instrument??

Help will be apreciated!

PS: here is another excample, the first audiofile named "warm pad".

Like this? Settings are

I can't really hear anything, because it's 11 PM, my speakers are almost silent and my headphones are too far from my chair.

is that considered a very warm analog sound ?? (the warm pad and the video, to my ears, are completely different sounds)

the video sounds more like juno strings put through its fabulous chorus. you should be able to get something similar using PWM in analog, and then put it through a decent chorus. you could use the free TAL chorus-60, for instance. or for something not free but not expensive, valhalla ubermod can do some of those sorts of things.

As I wrote, I made the patch with almost no sound.

I can hear that I'm totally off. The video is much more saw-ish and has more presence. Mine is completely wrong :D

:x

How about this one? Is this considered warm?

I get all fuzzy and warm inside, when I listen to it, so I made a song with this pattern going for 4 minutes. True story.

K, i thought yours (both of them!) was pretty close, in the same ballpark anyways. But both yours and the video were completely different from the warm pad referenced.

anyways, mocked this up very quick to show the effect of the chorus:

http://soundcloud.com/magneto_omicron/pwm-strings

basic pwm sound done in analog, with some different settings. without the chorus it's kind of bland. kind of like a juno, imho.
