...did install the update with no fuse. Safari is blazing fast now! The system seems to be even more snappier on my SSD. Audio test will be done tomorrow. :D

Update!

I did test Live 8.2.2 beta with Lion X.7.3 with no problems and it seems that Apple have been doing some work under the hood because:

- One thing has been fixed! I had funny crashes when i was closing Live on OS 10.7.2 but it seems that this has been fixed in the OS 10.7.3 update! No more crashes on closing and Live do load and save heavy projects MUCH faster (my personally thoughts).

- Also it seems that the Reaktor plugins are now loading and saving correctly. Funny i thought that this was a Ableton related bug!? But it seems it was a bug in Lion 10.7.2

I will post if i find any audio related problems. :D

How is Ableton on this version of Lion compared to Snow Leopard?

I can only write my private experiences with Lion. I think Lion is way faster and more responsive than Leopard. Lion is in 64Bit mode fast and perfect for audio i did feel the difference from 32 bit. But again i guess it also depends on your maschine. If you got a powerfull maschine with intel processors i would go for Lion and its new features like Launchpad, mission controll ect. which is sweet for working fast. Go for Lion!

Kind Regards

Lion is the best OS I've ever used, so far.

Has the consensus changed from - "if youre on snow leopard theres no real reason to change?" All I keep thinking is the amount of projects I could lose/plugin compatibility problems etc. Updating everything. Yar - seems completely headache inducing. If there was a major performance benefit I could be tempted - but how this is achieved I dont know - I doubt it make all that much with audio?

i'm in the same boat.. I've been holding off updating in fear of vst incompatibility.. maybe the early issues have been solved and most companies have updated their plug-ins to be compatible..

Just to clearify: Live itself still runs as a 32-bit application. But I agree, Lion is good and I haven't had any problems with it (or Live).

Yes good point to point out here Thanks! Hopefully Live will soon be 64bit which will surely kick ass...... :D

I appreciate your optimism, but if youve cold hard facts I wouldnt mind hearing! :) Ive only 4gbs of Ram so doubt Ill benefit from 64bit and also - alot of my stuff is run using soft synths, and thats all processing power. It would need to be a really good tested reason to shift my apathy.
