Disabling a plug in from an old project?

Post by Sureno » Wed Feb 08, 2012 12:17 am

i have a lot of old projects that contain soundtoys plug in "decapitator" i have the very latest version 4.1.5, but it never lets me open these projects blaming this plug in. my question is, with out removing the VST from the folder is there any way to go inside the ableton project manually and disable/delete this plug from having been used leaving me to be able to reopen the project and do what has to be done??

cheers

I believe there is a way to start up in "safe" mode which disables all third party plugs. Problem is I have forgotten how  have you checked Abe's answers?

I am having the same problem since the update...spend hours to get it to work.
Eventualy I removed decapitator out of the vst folder and loaded the project.
I sent a message about this to soundtoys, asking for the old installer.
