Can't decide between the Dark Energy or the Slim Phatty for my first analog synth...

My concern there is having menus within menus... whereas with the Doepfer all parameters are represented by a knob directly? Was this not an issue for you? I want a noisemaker where evrything is available for tweaking right at the surface... if this makes sense?

Thanks for your input and suggestions! The Oberheim SEM looks cool as well.

If you want real noisemaking stuff you should probably go modular.
The dark energy sounds right for your needs though. It even comes in a euro rack module..

The phatty kicks ass if youre making phat basslines!

I went for the Dark Energy... slapped it on the good old plastic. Can't wait to play around with it!

Had a little play today - ran it into the Kaoss Pad... noizee fun!!!! The build quality is impeccable.

Haven't been able to get it to be recognized as a USB Midi Device yet... grrr.
