Obviously deauthorizing the original install is best. If you have Komplete, last I checked you get 3 authorizations on active machines. A few years ago I had a tech support at NI clear my authorizations. Not sure what the current status is but in my dealings with NI tech support they have been empathetic to the user.

alls well that ends well :D i even decided to buy massive...i guess in a couple of years when i upgrade my computer again i will be a little more ready.
