Obviously deauthorizing the original install is best. If you have Komplete, last I checked you get 3 authorizations on active machines. A few years ago I had a tech support at NI clear my authorizations. Not sure what the current status is but in my dealings with NI tech support they have been empathetic to the user.
i even decided to buy massive...i guess in a couple of years when i upgrade my computer again i will be a little more ready.
