I had the same and different problems with my Zero8 to, i found out that in my case it was a hardware problem, so i did send the Zero8 to Korg`s user support to fix it, now it is better
i had only one time Problems after this, but a new firewire adapter fixed that to.
Did you look at the Korg forum for your problem there are many Zero8 topics.
And sadly but true, it seems that many of them are on hardware problems, so maybe you have to send yours as well to Korg?
Have a look in the Korg forum and find out if anther have the same problems to...

Thanks, a lot man,
but "been there, done that".

I got my Zero8 back from the service where they replaced the FW chip that I've fried out,
and now everything should be running fine, but it just not the case.
Then I send it there again for double-checking - and tested it with PC/Cubase, everything worked well.

But from the symptoms - yes it looks like back FW behaviour,
so may be I should send it over once more, ffffffffkkkkk.

Or I miss something in MacOSX AudioMidi setup.

I am on OSX 10.7 to, it should without extra settings, i mean out of the box.
Does your Zero8 work on Windows ?
that would be kind of strange.

Yep, I tried it with XP/Cubase once,
but did not test mulpitple switch on/offs, as the problem then was to establish the connection in general,
so it worked on XP.

Probably I have to update the OS with 10.6.8. Updates or update to 10.7,
though there are different opinions whether it worth it or not.

You are running Lion and everythin is ok?

yes version OS 10.7 everything is ok now! but not sure if this is the solution for you ?
like i sad i had to repair my Zero8,
also i changed from Macbook to Macbook Pro,
that also means i have a new Firewire 800 to Firewire 400 connection now
but everything for me is ok now, hope you find your solution to!
