XY controller that isn't a Kaoss Pad?
XY controller that isn't a Kaoss Pad?
I want to use the XY pad that effect racks have, so I was looking around for something like a Kaoss pad to control it with, but that is the only thing I found...does Korg have a monopoly on this kind of hardware? I don't need it to have on-board effects or for it to be able to process audio...How do you use the XY "pad" in ableton? I'm guessing my track pad would work, but its kind of small.

Korg nanopad2 is great.

I second the Korg NanoPad for this application, but this application only.
They may have increased the quality since the first gen, but my drum pads were shot immediately, and lots of others had the same problem at the time. Thankfully it was only like $45.
Having the XY pad was pretty sweet though.

Haven't had any issues with the pads on my second gen. Truthfully they don't get as much use as the XY pad as I've got a launchpad for most of my triggering, etc.ttilberg wrote:I second the Korg NanoPad for this application, but this application only.

The price is pretty decent for what it is though, and I've seen someone mod the original nanopad to only be an XY pad (they sawed off the drum pads - great if they're shot anyhow) which was originally what drew me to getting a nanopad (just to get a cheap XY control).
Plus, you can make use of the sweet Kaoss Rack by NedFX - http://morekicksthanfriends.tumblr.com/ ... k-by-nedfx which is the reason I actually bought the nanopad
