what are some FREE RealPlayer Alternatives ??

I want to play real player files but I don't want to use real player, anything good out there, I've heard of something in the past but can't figure it?

Check out http://gabest.org/ for a program called Real Alternative.

Although I do imagine in the near future Real Player will cut down on bloat and 3rd party apps it ships with since they are trying to be a competitor to iTunes and the industry has pretty much let them know that won't happen anytime soon unless they make the player a tasty option again.
