This software has a LOT of cool features i would like.

I just wish i had the patience to learn the Tracker method of input. Which i don't, even after first seeing one over ten years ago.

It looked so cool the way my tracker using friend just tapped away like he was touch typing, and out popped a sick tune.

oh well!

It's a kickass program and I know it well, but I never use it seriously anymore because bottom line is, for writing melodies & chord progressions, I personally require a piano roll. I can play such parts into the tracker but editing them is a nightmare; I need to 'see' chords, not read reference notes. Just my pref though. For rhythmic work, Renoise / tracking is an absolute beast, and *very* fun once you get a hang of it. At this point I basically just do rhythm sequencing in Renoise on my laptop when travelling or otherwise out and about, then export those little files as loops to use in a song in Live back home later. Fun stuff.

Actually, for note visibility for me renoise wins because I can see all tracks at once and therefore know any accidentals. It makes working with complex key changes loads easier.
