A new work made entirely in Ableton Live

Post by Pasha » Wed Mar 21, 2012 1:04 pm

Almost 15 months ago I started recording a new Album with my brand new Roland VG99, minimizing
usage of MIDI and synths (soft & hard), let my emotions flow and play only Guitars & Bass.
The Sonic palette of VG99 helped me to break free from not being good @ playing keyboards
and concentrating on making the music I wanted. Minimalistic. Emotional. Intimate.
Sometimes I had to rely on some synth sound but my guitar was the controller this time.
Ableton Live made the rest helping me from session to arrangement to 'Mastering'.

Well, if you want to take a listen it's free :

I hope you will enjoy listening as I was during recording... :)
Feel free to comment, the path to learning never ends... and I have deep respect for
all the pros down here spreading all the suggestions and help that I use.

Best

i actually shut everything off and laid on the floor listening to almost all of it.
it was a nice change from what i usually listen to.
the only reason i stopped listening is because i fell into a trance and forgot what time of day it was.
The Push / Novation Launch Pad / Novation Launch Pad Pro / Novation Launch Key
/ Launch Control XL / Machine MkII / Machine Studio / BeatStep / Livid OhmRGB / Livid Code V2 / Apc 40 MKII

no computers or synths

20 Copies of Ableton Live Lite.

Thank you for listening. Can't judge from my stand point if falling into a trance is to be considered a good thing or not but I guess that plug out the cord from life sometimes is refreshing....

Very nice! Expressive, mellow, rich (so often expressive and mellow feel "cheap" but not here!) Thanks for sharing!

This is great for making babies!

It quickly reminded me of an old fave by Plastyc Buddha called Throwing Stones in Placid Pools, which I haven't listened to in awhile. I haven't heard the whole thing yet but I think at the end of the night with some incense right before bed will be poyfect.

Thank you.
Good to know what use people make of my music. :D If I use it for the same purpose will I walk on Narcissus land? 8O ... and you do not know what I have decided to leave out of the album at the last minute
to avoid 'disturbing' the atmo. Hexigrams II is in the making... so... until next time...

I have listened to Plastic Buddha. Great! I'll get their album.
