Yeah, ironically my post.. seems to have 'Live'ned things up a bit..

I agree, this is def. not the place to showcase ones work.

It's a pity really, I would love for the Live community to be more interactive, on a user to user basis.. we're all musicians afterall.

Eg:, I posted a question about mapping in ableton a couple of days ago.. I think it has less than 10 views and 1 reply.

By contrast the Reaper, Studio One and FL forums seem to be teaming with activity.

Just surprises me, knowing how popular and good Live is.

Did you try naming your song "Live's summing bus sucks" or "Live 9 Feature List"?

Why do you ask developers for contents? The ones that create contents are rather you users, aren't they? No complaints means the software is stable.

Although this is a nice sentiment... I actually don't think this happens. Last year I spent a couple of months reviewing AND commenting (as best as I could) 3 or so songs a day on this board. One person who noticed what I was doing sent me a PM saying thanks for the effort. After that effort I then posted a track in the Link your music section which after a week had 8 views. Eventually in the last 4 months it has had 20 views but no comments at all. Soundclouds stats are pretty useless on my account, but none of the 9 plays it got in 2011 came from any regulars on this board. (assuming people keep niks the same).
So the OP is on point then regarding the activities on the Ableton forum. In terms of a community of users reaching out to other users, there is some good stuff going on in a technical way, but when it actually comes to music, the whole point of this software, it really is dead.
Agreed Greg, the 'Link Your Music' section is a bit quiet.
Sometimes it is hard to comment on styles of music you don't really like or understand. I listen to your track/s, but I found it difficult in commenting in a constructive way. Just not my thing. Not saying your music sucks at all :)
It is good to get some random comments re production & content, but at the end of the day, I think most of us here make music for ourselves.....

I still find it fun to visit 'Link Your Music' just to find a gem every now and then, or sometimes 'help' someone out with my opinion if I think I have something to offer. It is difficult to find spare time though....

I don't think the forum as a whole is in its death-bed.

Long time Ableton forum lurker here. Gotta say that I've been enjoying some other discussions happening on reddit. To me, part of the problem is the antiquity of the circa-2003 phpBB forum. I feel like there are often good nuggets of information available here, but buried deep within 10 pages of forum discussion.

Sweet links. I finally just started using reddit about a month ago. I didn't even think to look for edm related subreddits. Thanks!
