clips playing BOTH in session AND arrangement in 8.3
clips playing BOTH in session AND arrangement in 8.3
dear forum users,
I'm experiencing this super annoying issue witht the new 8.3 update.
when I play session view clips, what is stored in arrangement is played at the same time.
there's no difference between session and arrangement!!
it seems that the red "back to arrangement" button next to the ovr in the main bar doesn't function anymore.
wtf????
am I missing something????
I can't play around in the session view because the arrangement view clips play as well.
I'm about to go crazy
thank you very much for your help.
best.

Sounds like a minor bug I could see easily being passed over in testing. Maybe file a report with the Abes?

click on stop clips. Button

sorry but this is really of no use.
happens again everytime I launch a new clip in session afterwards.

woulnd't really call this a "minor" bug.timothyallan wrote:Sounds like a minor bug I could see easily being passed over in testing. Maybe file a report with the Abes?
I wrote to the support as well, but I'm looking forward to some tips here as well.

Are we talking about the same button I wonder.
I'm talking about this one:
When you click it the back to arrange button should light up red and all clips - including arrangement view clips should stop playing.
Don't click back to arrangement - it's the opposite of what you want.
Now if you launch a session clip it should play on it's own.
if it doesn't then you really have discovered a bug.

I don't usually click on the red button.crumhorn wrote:F.B. wrote:crumhorn wrote:click on stop clips. Button

it lights up by itself and becomes red every time I'm in session view - with the arrangement clips playing - and I start any of the clips in the tracks of the session view.
but this is obvious and it has always been like this in ableton live.
I don't really know what the "stop clips" button has got to do with my issue.
if I click on it, the clips stop. and then???? who cares.
the problem is I'm hearing what's there in arrangement even if a clip in session is triggered and starts playing.
the red button is not working.
I believe this is indeed a bug.
thanks.

It's got everything to do with your issue - or at least finding out if you have one or not.F.B. wrote:

Desired behaviour is that after pressing "stop clips' any subsequent triggering of a clip in session view shouldn't trigger anything from arrange. If it does, you indeed have an issue.

a question that i don't think has been asked about this - do you mean on the same track or on other tracks?op wrote:the problem is I'm hearing what's there in arrangement even if a clip in session is triggered and starts playing.
Yeah, bit hard to fathom what tim meant there. Irony? Sarcasm?dazzer wrote:timothyallan wrote:Sounds like a minor bug I could see easily being passed over in testing.

oh oh oh
If you got recordings in arrangement view:
in session view, if you launch a clip on track 1 it will cut what's playing in arrangement on track 1 but not clips on the other tracks.
Do you mean it plays both clips [session/arrange'] on the same track?
You're not very clear.
Don't bother, mail the support and create a bug pack report.
Then the smartest thing to do, use version 8.2.8

I think you should do what the man says... you've made him angry..crumhorn wrote:Just hit the f#£%ing stop clips button and see what happens ffs.
besides.. how hard is it to press the "stop all clips" button...
it might help...
after all ..what it does is:
STOP ALL CLIPS FROM PLAYING..AND LIGHTS UP THE BTA button..
so it might help...
I don't think this sort of bug would ever get to be released...it's too obvious..
but stranger things have happened
