the green logo... those were the days..

joking aside.. I've now been authorized to say..
that Live 9 will (probably) be more feature rich than Live 8 when it came out...
also they are now toying with the idea of changing the fonts and icons...to be "touch resistant"
so they can sell a "touch able" version 6 months later..

You confused it with the new iPod - making music inside your brain, while the Live 9 will do exactly reverse - transmit from your brain to selected hardware device. The main reason for the delays is in both cases, the obvious disadvantage for brainless users - incompatible with EU anti discrimination laws. Both Apple and Ableton were forced to include brainless version @ the release date.

I have this from the lips of an international superstar himself. Live 9 will be the most environmentally friendly version ever running on reduced cpu load and with the top secret ( no longer ) all new solar panelled launchpad device. A device whos pads not only act as midi controller's but now also serve as individual solar panels providing enough electricity to power ableton on your laptop or pc and save you money at the same time! Additonally along with this purchase of the all new upgraded solar controller comes the additional benefit of being able to claim £50 uk cashback to put into the UK Government's recent home insullation intiative. Ableton and the UK led Conservative Government ensuring a sustainable future for the environemnt bringing benefit for our childrens children and all those poor type people in China who make apc40 and launchpads for us at heavily reduced slave labour wages and die prematurely due to severe exhaustion from overworking ! !

Another exclusive:

Ableton and Akai team up again to produce new keyboard controller with unique selling point.
Ableton and Akai have again broken the mold by producing the worlds first fully edible midi controller. Details are sketchy but people close to the project are indicating a midi keyboard with shortbread fingers and black liquirce strip sweets for the black and white keyboard fingers respectively. Jammy dodgers and hob knobs biscuits have been used on the demo controller as fully functing rotational endless midi controllers with software midi learn interface in live reacting to them. The device is USB powered.

The source is quoted as saying that with the new " Soundcloud " partnership there is a corporate push to spearhead a marketing campaign into West and Central Africa and infact the whole of the world where specifically there are needy, hungry and poor people as there is the capaicity for consumers to catch hold of the dream of musical deleverance from poverty and suffering via musical careers and pop videos. Advertising demographs are quoted as indicating that there is huge room for growth in this area and my source at ableton is also quoted saying that the edible midi products may be regionalised with China for example using crab sticks and mussle shells as white and black keyboard fingers and Poland using sliced turnip and red beetroot for that particular countries cullinary preferences. The thesis behind it all is edible midi products = " Feed the worlds hungry while making music !" which equals increased market share.

Hello magazine is quoted as showing huge interest in this altruistic money maker by running a series of features on the new devices offering celebrity ableton users like well known pop starlet "Cheryl hunny cheeks Cole" pictured making beats in first class british airways with a macbook and dr dre headphones portraying the perfect image for the marketing partnership between Ableton, Soundcloud and bridging the interface to the worlds aspirational hungry and poor consumer market.

Coca Cola are rumoured to be hovering in the background waiting to see how avenues develop with one further thesis being touted as " Feed the worlds hungry while making music and also at the same time quench their thirst and create more work for dentists and create jobs for the poor through aluminium can collection for under fives at third world rubbish tips!" A leading VP of Coca Cola is told have said this could lead to higher sales of Ableton,Coca Cola and abletons new solar powered USB controller" A win win strategy for everyone!"

The New Ableton Live is going to be 128 bit. so the reason we haven't seen a new version is because Ableton is waiting for Microsoft and Apple to build an OS to run it.
