how to simulate pitchbend

anyone know how to simulate pitchbend if you're using a midi keyboard that doesnt have the ability to do so?
you mean no pitch wheel? if so you can just draw some automation
if you mean a synth that won't receive pitch bend, i'd fake it with portamento and variable speed to achieve the sound im looking for
