A tool for adding punchiness to beats?

One of the few things I miss about Logic is its "Enveloper" tool that is super dope for adding simple snap / punch to beats.
Can you think of an alternative for Live?
(I did try the free M4L effect, "EnvelopeShaper", but I don't think it does the job as well)

My preferred tool for that is Schaack Audio Transient Shaper.

SPL transient designer.
Using a compressor or expander in parallel can help as well.

Just discovered this a few weeks ago, it's an awesome tool and I've been using it a lot, definitely recommended.

BitterSweet is decent, Stillwell's Transient Monster is another you could look at. It has a unrestricted demo that can be used forever, with no limitations (so in a way free, if you want it to be)

Throw stuff in a sampler and use the envelope controls!

there's always the Multiband Dynamics device. it's well worth getting into it properly.
set the Amount to 50% and set up the 'Above' threshold(s) and ratio(s) to let through the transients.

For me the best way is to use a snappy sample and reduce the release time in simpler on a 2nd chain in Drumrack. You can add a Saturator/Tube & a Compressor. Works really well.
