Midi grid smaller than 1/32?

Post by UCAudio » Fri May 18, 2012 8:57 pm

When editing midi notes in clips, is it possible to set the grid to 1/64 or 1/128? The smallest I saw was 1/32.

Yes, this is possible but only if you switch the grid to "flexible grid" and zoom in or out to get the the desired grid value.

cheers, palmer

your friends :
ctrl + 1/2 .. grid resolution
ctrl + 3 ... triplet grid on/off
ctrl + 4 ... grid lock on/off
ctrl + 5 ... "fixed" grid on/off (meaning the grid changes when you zoom)

ctrl + shift + u ... quantize settings
ctrl + u ... quantize

^^

& Alt for Velocity PLUS if you click on midi note, then press Alt, you can move midi note freely. ( just like turning off grid, but quicker when adjusting single midi note/s )

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I'm trying to get 1/128 and I can't. I loaded some drum midi clips and they have a 1/128 ratio but I made my own clip and can't seem to do it.

I see people are saying use control and 1 but that isn't doing anything for me. I'm on a Mac using Live 8.2.8

ctrl on windows generally translates to Mac's cmnd button! You can also right click in the piano roll to get a list of possible grid options.
