it is really cool to hear how creative some ideas can be, with the same content.
i've found bunches of trawling comments on my entry, which i noticed cut and pasted on many other entries.
not sure if some of them even actually listen when they make their comment with their link to their entry.

btw, i'm entry number xxxx ;) haha
Man, are you KIDDING???

This may be the number one best remix I've heard yet. That shit is TIGHT! Followed through your soundcloud account. Man you got talent.

Seriously, post your # or send it to me on soundcloud (askew) so I can vote!

Thanks for everyone's input here. It's been an interesting contest so far. I've listened to some of the tracks that have been posted on this thread. What I'd have to say is that outside the context of this contest, the tracks that I've heard so far would really stand out in their own right. Unfortunately, I've heard the samples so many times, that I'm finding it hard to get excited about peoples' tracks. That doesn't say anything about the writers. I think it's just a bit of ear fatigue.

Nice tracks Askew, modecai, noneofmine! Sorry if I've missed anyone.

I wanted to comment on these:
Does anyone else think the way we have to vote is pretty absurd?
The contest says that creativity and knock-their-socks-off entries are what they are looking for, but the final entries will be chosen from the top 25 popular choices.
Spam never dissapears on the internet. So it shows spaming partly works on the internet whether we like it or not.
Full disclosure here: I'm a big Mr. Bill fan and think that he deserves to win for two reasons: a) He has done the most interesting stuff I've heard so far with the content b) He's done more for the Ableton community than anyone else I know of. So you can take my words as biased if you like. But, I'd have to say that the contestants other than Mr. Bill in the top 3 have basically gotten there either because they are voting with fake accounts, or because they have gotten a legion of Facebook/twitter followers to vote for them. So, I do think it's quite sad that of the thousands of entries, the top 25 are probably going to be filled with tracks by people who work the hardest at spamming people.

Just to give you an idea of Mr. Bill's contribution to the community, check this out: http://mrbillstunes.com/tuition/video-tutorials/
By the way, Syncretia, where's yer track? Have you done one?
My track is here: http://contest.ableton.com/tracks/850

Please don't vote for it.
I don't even know how we can see how many vote our track has.
Is it linked to the "favourite" on soundcloud?
Yeah, I can't figure this out either. The only way to see how many votes a track has is to see it on the content home page which only shows the top 3, new entries, and random entries. I don't think SoundCloud favourites are related to votes. Last time I checked, one of the guys in the top 3 only had 14 favourites.

I've never done this before, but I deleted my submission from this contest.

That will not improve anyone's chance in the slightest, so no cause to rejoice.

But this contest just rubs me the wrong way.

I wish every else the best of luck.

Can you post a link to the song on sounds cloud anyway? I'd like to listen.

i've noticed that there are more people who have commented on my track saying they voted for me (and of course asking for one in return) than my actual number of votes. some sad people out there man.

Great tracks you guys. I didn't have the time to participate in the competition and therefore I haven't listened to the original samples.

I listened to all the tracks posted in the thread and I can honestly say that you have real talent. It's refreshing to hear something else than Deadmau5 / Skrillex imitations. :D

@bartend7 that seems to happen everywhere, even without a competition. Usually if someone takes time to comment my tracks on Soundcloud I go and check them out. But sometimes people write comments like "great track. Reminds me of my track. Take a listen ...". That's so obvious that I don't even bother replying them.

I think with this "voting" thing, only people who can easily promote himself can go in the top 25, for example, I'm not good with promoting my music, it's something difficult.

By the way, I listened lot of entries and I need to say there are just a few I like, plus, the track that's actually on 2nd place is totally bad imho, don't know how it's possible, that's the problem of voting.
Mr Bill's one is nice, and he's awesome, I learnt lot of things watching his YouTube video tutorials.

Well, I made mine in 3 hours, 'cause I downloaded the pack yesterday and today I've no time (my job calls me) - I'm just trying but I'm sure I can't win with this voting system.

This is mine, that would be nice to have your opinion, well, I think it's what we all want!

Needaname, I'm listening to this track for the second time. This is a really beautiful track. You've really taken this to a new place, and that's what I've been looking for most in the competition. Fantastic work, start to finish... seriously even the outtro is straight up classy.

Syncretia, I think I voted for your track before you told me not to, sorry :)

And being fairly new to the ableton community (online at least), I have to say that it is by and large a great community. Sorry to get all warm and fuzzy here, but it's nice to be able to share music and ideas and knowledge with others who share a passion for creating this music -- especially because there's not much of an electronic [sic] music community where I am. That being said I decided to get over myself and give Mr Bill my vote. It's obviously vote worthy and I also hadn't made the connection with his contributions -- thanks for pointing that out Syncretia, I've used these tutorials before and never made the connection. I also am dismayed at the vote harvesting techniques of some of the other front runners.

arachnaut, ditto on what syncretia said, can we still listen?

Great work everyone.

Thank you so much, it means a lot to me.

Syncretia: your track's nice, congrats!
By the way, I can't vote tracks, my vote button is disabled, maybe that's because I'm still in the countdown?

Nice work Landwhale! The bassline and synth alteration stand out nicely and it's just all around a good groove. Cheers!
