Dear Ableton, 64 BIT SUPPORT . NOW . PLEASE!!! PLEASEEE! :*(
Everybody else has it.... and these memory crash failures are getting really old.... why is there no word at all on when it might become available? 2012? 2013? 2015? 2020? Never?

Yup.
I love Ableton to bits, I really do, but when building live sets, that IS annoying.
I'll celebrate for a week when we get 64-bit.
Usually, when I play live for 1.5 hours or so, I have to use two sets.
It's not cool having to load the second one on a gig.
Takes time.
(TIP: after finishing your first set, simply kill the process instead of loading the next set; then boot Ableton again and load your second set...saves you a lot of time because it takes Live ages to cope with loading the 2nd set if the 1st one is in the memory)

Yes, let's go Abes, let's have 64 bit now as a free update. That would make it somewhat more comfortable waiting for Live 9 to happen.

I keep thinking it's time for another hardware upgrade but then I remember, the software wont really recognise it

Aye for petes sake come on. You use to talk to us. No longer it seems.!!
Re: Dear Ableton, 64 BIT SUPPORT . NOW . PLEASE!!! PLEASEEE! :*(
64-bit support is harder than it sounds, because not only Live but also Max and Rewire have to have 64-bit support in order for everything to work. I believe that Rewire went 64-bit only recently, and Max is still 32-bit only.
If I had to guess, I would expect that 64-bit Max and 64-bit Live will appear at the same time.

I know this is bashing a dead horse, but....they could at least give a word.
Even say, "it'll probably take two more years, sorry" or whatever instead of the radio silence.
I kind of understand the not-talking-so-much-and-not-revealing-too-much-until-it's-done philosophy, but a little something at this point wouldn't hurt.
32-bit feels a little dated.

here is a link to the 64 bit workaround. it allows you to run your 32 bit processor applications as though they were created for a 64 bit architecture.

It'd at least hopefully fix the out of memory ones.Tone Deft wrote:you think 64 bit is going to fix all the crashes? this coming from the guy that couldn't tell audio from midi a few months ago?blue frog beats wrote:Everybody else has it.... and these memory crash failures are getting really old.... why is there no word at all on when it might become available? 2012? 2013? 2015? 2020? Doubt it'd fix the time signature change bug though that bugs me the most.

List buggy buttons/features and post-it beside the screen. It became to run stable.

We are now, "bashing dead horses." What, was it not good enough, just to beat them?Fanu wrote:I know this is bashing a dead horse
