Need help about level meters use

Post by lherbeux » Tue Mar 22, 2005 7:45 pm

javascript:emoticon(':?:')
Question When I make a loop, how may I use the highlighted level meter's bar wich move, accordingly with the horizontal bar that is up in the level meter itself? I don't understand what is that little bar? Don't seen it in the manual. Any help greatly appreciated. And sorry for my bad English, but I'm French.

that bar represents 0dB.

its generally best to keep things under the 0dB bar to avoid clipping.

a good way to meter your levels is when you select the level fader, you will see in the very bottom of the Live window "Track Volume x.xx dB"
thats not necessarily the volume of the clip, but rather a more detailed indication on the position of the fader. If you have quiet clips, they will be far less than that Track Volume x.xx dB readout. If you have a hot clip (up to 0dB of program volume in the source sound itself), then that readout will better represent the volume of the clip being played back in the track.

i hope thats not too confusing.
just keep the VU meters under the 0dB line and you will be fine
