need help making super staticy synth $ bass sounds

i'm trying to make some staticy lead and bass sounds like in Modeselektors - Deboutonner

really just not sure what effect/s to use to dirty and static up my syth

please help. i really love this static sound and want to learn all about it.

I have a feeling you are going to get close to the sound with Ni Massive.
Or try operator, eroison noise, saturn.

operator or massive is definitly the right decision. try to split the frequencies and put a mix of a bitcrusher and erosion to the upper mids.....

Omnisphere + Trilian work are the best and work inside same interface, but more expensive.

to be honest i was really hoping on more of a step by step synthesis .

maybe something more like.....

first you want a square wave with a little bit of 8bit sine mixed in to taste.
then make two of them so you can split the frequency into a high and low (perhaps even detune one for some extra width)
now lets put some effects on the higher one......


I don't just want to make a staticy baseline for one song

i want to know everything about making them..... and i'd like to do it with Abletons instruments. otherwise i'd probably be trying to do this in Reason.

Have you tried and mailed the band that made the bass sound and ask ? I would think that they will happily help you. People like to help other people.
You have the tools in Ableton experiment a bit and you are almost there.
