Just wondering if anyone has done this before / can see any problems with it ?
Instead of forking out for a crossover/sound processor for my pa, I am considering using live, ie: using the return tracks as final outputs, with high and low pass filters on them respectively as well as the live compressors, one for the subs and one for the tops.
I am using an m audio firewire 410 so I am sending my tracks in live out into a dj mixer where I am also blending other sounds, back into live through a single track designated to the sends and then everything out through the returns (where the sound is crossed over and compressed) to my PA.
Personally I am quite excited about the prospect of not having to spend $1000 on a hardware compressor/crossover, using live not only as my dj tool but also as the controller for my sound system, am thinking to give it a bash this weekend.
Will this work or am I dreaming ?
live as a sound processor...as well as a dj/mixing tool ?
On this same note, if I wanted to retard my top speakers by say 1/10th of a second (not sure exactly right now) so that they would be in time with my folded bass horns (ie sound has to travel 3.2 meters round the horns so if I want my tops to be in time with my subs I have to either sit them 3.2m behind the subs OR delay the tops by 1/10th of a second and sit the tops directly on top of the subs),
does anyone know of a plug in that I could put in the signal chain in Live that would do this delay on my top speakers ?
