Re: Fading multiple clips?
four approaches to solve your problem, decide which one works best for you:
1. you can move several clips at a time by using a midi controller.
2. hold shift, while selecting the track title bars. this way you can select several clips at a time. moving a fader of one of the selected tracks will move all others.
3. group the tracks with the clips you want to fade and use the fader of the group track.
4. route the audio outputs of those tracks into an empty audio track and record-arm it. use its fader to do the fading.

i would not thank for any reply in advance. a question like yours could easily lead to replies like "RTFM, bloody noob!!!!!"SimenE wrote:I

Hi.
Thanks for your reply, but I meant using the fade on the clips (show fades)... Not automating the fader..

Re: Fading multiple clips?
just do ....
or3. group the tracks with the clips you want to fade and use the fader of the group track.
4. route the audio outputs of those tracks into an empty audio track and record-arm it. use its fader to do the fading.

@pencilrocket > Thanx for helping BUT
he means Region Fade not mixing fade.
Like if you want to do a crossfade on Eight different tracks at the same time...
The "cmd-alt-F" option in arrangement view.

Re: Fading multiple clips?
yeah, there's no way to fade alot of clips at the same time.
Re: Fading multiple clips?
I was wondering about this too a while ago.
What also would be a handy function is to split a clip in equal parts.
Say you highlight 1/8th of a clip, and then with a command split the whole clip.
I know logic has this function, would be nice if Live could do this.

Re: Fading multiple clips?
Hmmm.... I don't have a lot of experience workign with fade edits as I usually just am fine with the standard crossfades. But.. maybe next time create a clip and then make your crossfade. THEN, duplicate and edit the pattern and the fade should stay, yeah? I know that doesn't help now, but food for thought for next time around.

Re: Fading multiple clips?
I would like to see the crossfade function (alt cmd F) available for multiple clips. This would make editing drums less time consuming.
I'm using version 8 of ableton, perhaps this function is available now in 9, I don't know.
I have found a work around which is ok.
1. Highlight the region you'd like to crossfade on one track and hit alt cmd F
2. Use the down arrow to select the identical region in the next track below.
3. Repeat these steps until your entire multitrack recording is crossfaded.

Re: Fading multiple clips?
Thank you, works great! Still, Ableton should implement a way to apply fades to a selection of multiple clips, especially when you want to edit the default slope/curve.benjamin' wrote:I would like to see the crossfade function (alt cmd F) available for multiple clips.
