Hi guys,
I'm using a UX2 as my interface for ableton.
If I go to hardware setup, the ASIO driver format is set 44100 Hz; 16 bit. My question is, this is the bit and sample rate only for recording inputs, right?
If I'm only sequencing soft synths, that is, not using the interface to record anything, the final bit and sample rate of the soft synths is determined only by my final render of them.
My intended output is 24bit @ 44.1khz.
The reason why I'm asking is that if I select 24bit under my ASIO settings, I get glitches and pops regardless of if anything is being played through ableton (which I can't figure out yet, as I'm on an upgraded samsung laptop with a core i5, 4 gigs ram, windows 7 x64.. I've got to go through the samsung bloatware to see if there's usb conflict with them). For this reason, all 24bit tracking is done outside on another machine, this computer is for sequencing only.
Therefore, is my assumption correct? That ASIO driver settings won't affect the final output that ableton renders because it doesn't use the soundcard to export files?
Cheers,
Justin
Does this matter for 24-bit processing?

Cheers mate!

Yes, internal resolution should be 32bit floating point, I think.
