Speculation
Re: Speculation
Apple have obviously bought out Ableton (they have a habit for rescuing once innovative but now stagnant German music software houses) and the next release of Logic 10 will have many of Live's features.
This explains the unnaturally long hiatus in Logic 10 and Live 9. And why Bitwig has been set up - to provide the soon to be stranded Ableton PC users with a get out clause.

To busy speculating on whether Greece will drop out of the euro before England drops out of euro 2012.

Re: Speculation
The word on the street (unable to disclose exact source) is that there will definitely be some speculation about the level of speculation between now and some unknown point in the future. In fact if you analyse the amount of speculation during specific periods in the past you will find some interesting statistics on this subject.
Re: Speculation
Somewhere in space, this may all be happening right now-
I predict that on live 9's eventual/timely/premature release, the number of posts of people omging over features will be overshadowed only by people bitching about upgrade pricing. Someone gets more discount than me. Someone gets the same discount as me but I upgraded one more time. I payed more for this add on 4years ago now other people get it cheaper. Etc etc.
Ableton's attempt to appease everyone with a ridiculously convoluted discount scheme will fail entirely.

Re: Speculation
I believe archeologists have just uncovered a Mayan hieroglyph that features the Ableton logo and the number 9.

Re: Speculation
I suspect there will be speculations based on the expectations of the population.
And Ableton is DEFINITELY owned by Apple now. I can feel it in my water.
