akai apc 40 V Launchpad + Lpk25 + nanoKontrol 2

Howdy,
Trying to decide on the best studio setup, i was about to jump on the akai apc 40 but then i noticed a youtube video with a dude using a launchpad, lpk 25 and nanoKontrol 2, it looks quite good and i am thinking maybe this would be a more robust solution, although there will be 3 connections rather than 2.
Or i could swap the nanKontrol for an lpd8?
or an akai apc 20 + lpd8 +lpk 25?
Any opinions appreciated
