imported audio not affected by effects of ableton

Post by johncopter » Wed Jul 04, 2012 9:33 pm

Alright I have a tape recorder that I use for field recordings and what not that I import into ableton through a regular 3.5mm whatever cable, etc. etc. but the problem is when I put effects (reverb, delay, etc.) it seems to have little to no affect on the audio. Everything else is working just fine. I've tried using return/send channels as well as just putting the effect on the track itself to see if it had a different effect but both ways seem to be doing almost nothing to the audio. Any help would be appreciated.

yeah having a little trouble understanding your question.

you record an audio clip from an external source. and then when you replay that clip it plays fine but when you add an audio effect it sounds the same or very similar to the clip playing without the effect.

What effect are you using. maybe try some other effects. or does the same thing happen with all effects.
