If using a Mac connect directly to your iPad with an 'adhoc' network. (Create network etc. etc.) and then open up network midi and connect to your iPad. (It should just show up if you've got a core midi app running) Send midi Clock from Ableton to 'Network Session' and you're off!

I use StepPolyArp & it didn'y sync quite right with adhoc.

I use an esi midimate 2 cable with an apple camera connection and it is solid as.
