Disk Overload in Sampler?

Post by beef_wellington » Wed Jul 11, 2012 5:37 pm

I am building an Instrument Rack with 6 Samplers, each having ~80 very short samples (all little slices of one audio file that were chopped in Arrange View). The 'RAM' button is enabled on each Sampler.

I am triggering 16th & 32nd note patterns with randomized velocities to switch between the samples automatically. Once I enable some pitch/pan/filter modulation in one of the Samplers, my Disk Overload box turns red periodically. There's no glitches in playback, or any interruptions. I am curious as to why this is happening when all samples are playing from RAM. There is nothing else going on in the project, and my CPU is hovering steady at 5%.

Any insight is appreciated.

How many voices have you selected for each sampler? If it is a high number, do you need that many?

They are set to 1.

It's is very short staccato samples. Once I do some pitch envelope tweaking it starts overloading. I would expect processing resource to be affected instead, since all samples are in RAM.
