Yeah, that's what you do. There is a routing diagram on my site. You have to create 3 tracks to do it. You just alter the velocity for different colours, and set the midi to a convenient place, eg the top right hand corner.

I tried this just the other day and was having a problem. some lights stayed on some changed weird colors. I know that velocity plays a role in the which light comes on and I placed a velocity plug on the channel to look for the color I wanted (green) but again it was very inconsistent... Any tips?
